An Unusual Missing Family Case

A 13 year-old missing girl from Ohio has been found.  It sounds like exciting news, but it still sparks questions in this unusual case.

Sarah Maynard was found bound and gagged at the home of Matthew Hoffman, about 10 miles from her home on Sunday, November 14.

The unusual part of this case is that Sarah Maynard was not the only person missing.  Her 10 year-old brother Kody, mother Tina Herrmann, and her mother’s friend Stephanie Sprang went missing as well.  They have not yet been found.

Authorities were alerted on Wednesday, November 10 when Tina Herrman did not show up for work and the children did not show up to school.

Police have found a large amount of blood at the Herrmann home that indicates an injury has occurred.  Sprang’s vehicle was also found in the driveway of the Herrmann home.  Herrmann’s truck was later found near Kenyon College prompting a lockdown of the campus, but no one was found in the truck.

The authorities will not say what prompted them to investigate the Hoffman home.  Hoffman has not given the authorities any information on the other three missing people.
